Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding officials, union leaders and state and local government officials participated in a ceremonial groundbreaking for the Maritime Trades Academy Tuesday, June 8, 2010 near the Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding Pascagoula facility. Breaking ground with ceremonial shovels are (left to right) Chris Anderson, chairman, Jackson County Economic Development foundation; Charles Persons, president, Port of Pascagoula; Mike Mangum, president, Jackson County Board of Supervisors; Robbie Maxwell, Mayor of Pascagoula; Mike Petters, president, Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding; Haley Barbour, Governor of Mississippi; Irwin F. Edenzon, vice president and general manager, Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding-Gulf Coast; Kevin Amis, vice president of operations, Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding-Gulf Coast; Mike Crawley, president, Pascagoula Metal Trades Council and Jim Couch, business manager, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW Local 733).
