SMASHING HONORS -- Mrs. Ann Sherman Fitzpatrick, ship's sponsor, assisted by Dr. Philip A. Dur, president, Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, smashes the traditional bottle of champagne across the bow of the Northrop Grumman-built destroyer, DDG 98. The destroyer is named "Forrest Sherman" in honor of Fitzpatrick's father Rear Adm. Forrest Percival Sherman (1896-1951). Mrs. Fitzpatrick's daughter, Mrs. Diane Fitzpatrick Flamini (background) joined her two sisters as matrons of honor for the ceremony held at the company's Ship Systems sector in Pascagoula, Miss.
