Media Advisory -- Newport News Shipbuilding to Celebrate Construction Milestone on John Warner (SSN 785) with Submarine's Namesake


ADVISORY, March 31, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --


Media are invited to join former U.S. Sen. John Warner and his wife, Jeanne, during their visit to Newport News Shipbuilding to see the construction progress on Virginia-class submarine John Warner (SSN 785), which is pressure hull complete. Pressure hull complete is a construction milestone that signifies the submarine's hull sections are joined to form a single, water-tight unit.
When: 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday
Where: Signs will be posted directing media to park in visitor parking at the Innovation Center in the North Yard.
  Media will be escorted and transported by bus to and from the site. The press availability will be held inside the Module Outfitting Facility.
