PASCAGOULA, Miss. and NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Dec. 22, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Shipbuilding sector employees, through several holiday giving programs, have donated more than 30,000 pounds of non-perishable food items and made monetary contributions totaling over $16,000 to organizations that support families in need.

"We have established an organized system that allows employees across our entire sector to give holiday gifts and food to those in need."
Shipbuilders across the sector adopted families, participated in the U.S. Marine Corp's Toys for Tots program, organized food drives and held raffles with proceeds going to help families in need. Also, shipbuilders supported the Salvation Army's Angel Tree giving program, which resulted in the fulfillment of "wish lists" for more than 200 children.
Organizations that benefitted from Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding-employee giving include: Our Daily Bread (Miss.), Second Harvester (La.), Salvation Army (Va. La. and Miss.), Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula, Foodbank of Southeast Virginia, Fort Eustis Elementary School (Va.), St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children (Va.) and students at Carver Elementary School (Va.).
